MY
INSPIRATION

The permanence and unyielding nature of stone is endlessly fascinating. Manipulating pieces of earth into pieces of sculpture always feels like wizardry to me. My work is not directly representational, but does find inspiration in the physical world. I love the juxtaposition of geometric and organic forms and the transitions created when the two meet. Every stone is unique in its composition and structure, and my intent as the sculptor is to highlight and draw inspiration from those individualities.

My work often incorporates voids and cavities, some  naturally occurring, others purposefully created. These interior spaces always seem to draw my  focus while sculpting. Sometimes they feel claustrophobic and confining, sometimes warm and  comforting. These spaces, generally speaking, are where you will find the soul of my work.
